Ane’s Stories

 Links

When I work with words, I am reminded that life has infinite possibilities.  When I start a new manuscript I am always filled with hope.

I believe in MAGIC.  I have since the age of four, when my grandfather took me, one morning before sunrise, to see the faeries wake up.

That belief in magic nourishes limitless possibilities and that is why I write stories.  Long, short or “Tall Tales”, it doesn’t matter, the need to write is as essential as oxygen.

I also love history.  Ancient civilizations, their history, politics and how the people lived day to day fascinate me.

Retelling a story, whether myth or legend, which lacks detail or doesn’t quite satisfy, is also a favorite pastime.

Why did that happen?  How did they accomplish that?  What’s in it for whoever I’m examining at the moment?

Most recently I asked myself, “Do you really believe that Scheherhezade kept her life 1,001 nights on story telling alone?”

             I don’t think so.

There’s a lot more to it than that.  So I decided to share my version of how and why she survived an unfair law in a foreign land with a political climate which was hostile to women.

I’ll tell you that honesty, integrity, and a belief and hope in love let this woman win respect, the gratitude of an entire kingdom and the soul mate she’d been searching for life long.
